The Afghanistan Trip

Artie said during the trip to Afghanistan he felt very protected, though there were times he did get a bit nervous. Artie ended up losing fourteen pounds on the trip. There were some late flights and such, Artie and Jim almost ended up going and doing the show by themselves. But everyone ended up making the last connecting flight so everyone was able to go and perform, there was Nick DiPaolo, Dave Attell , Artie, Gary and Jim Florentine. The guys had a list of things they were not supposed to talk about, but the guys pushed the limit and everyone had a great time. There were a few things that happened that the guys got to use in there bits, one was about the shit pond, Artie said the stench was so bad he was gagging on stage. There was also a close call with a bombing while the guys were on the road, Artie said there were five soldiers assigned to protect them who did a great job. Howard said he is very proud of these guys for entertaining the troops while they are over there fighting for our country. Artie then goes into a story about having a meltdown in Kazakhstan because his flight was delayed and he wanted to get home, he ends up finding Valium and buys twenty, he ends up taking twelve to calm down.
