The Earliest Years

Howard’s mother reminisces about Jan 12, 1954 the day Howard was born, she had sent Howard’s dad back to work while she was in the hospital however, he decided to stay in the waiting room. No one knew he was there so he didn’t find out about Howard’s birth until much later. Howard has a sister who is four years older. His earliest memory of school is in kindergarten and doing a duty in his pants, then running home, changing and burying his underwear in the back yard, Howard states there is now and underwear tree growing in Roosevelt! According to friends Howard’s parents were very social with other families in the neighborhood, having parties and going to the beach together. Howard said his dad was the focal point of such parties with his sharp wit and opinions.
Howard and his sister had a good relationship, he liked looking at her girlfriends, however he said her male friends were mean to him, one tried drowning him one time. His sister and mother say Howard is a great brother, father and uncle, very caring and sincere.
Howard was very into puppets and marionettes when he was young, he used to perform for people and they loved it, he did Fiddler on the Roof for senior citizens and it was a hit! Howard said he also used to do perverted puppet shows for his friends!
