Carly Simon and her son Ben come in the studio, Howard asks about raising her son with the animosity between her and James Taylor, Carly stated they haven’t spoken in years, she tried to talk to him about a year ago, but she can’t get in touch with him. Howard would like to get the two of them together. When Carly’s daughter was married there was a lot of tension between the two of them, after awhile Carly said they should probably change the subject and not air their dirty laundry. However the conversation continues, Carly feels that his two wifes were threatened by her and that contributes to the strain in the relationship. Howard asks what she would say if she could talk to him, she said she would want to apologize and thrash out the whole situation and clear the air because she does miss him. Jill Dell’abate, Gary’s cousin is actually in Carly’s band, Howard wants her opinion on the whole James Taylor and Carly Simon situation, she responds diplomatically because she has also played in his band.

Carly and Ben perform You’re So Vain together…..Carly later revealed who the song You’re So Vain is really about! However Howard is not talking, he told Robin he would tell her later but swore her to secrecy.

yes indeed.. great momments. A&E also did an interview with Carly Simon which will be shown this sunday 6/29 at 9am on A&E. I think she is also performing a few of her fav songs.
Here is what I found:
Sunday, June 29th at 9 am EST – Only on A&E’s PRIVATE SESSIONS – the legendary singer/songwriter CARLY SIMON chats with host Lynn Hoffman about her remarkable career from performing as one of the Simon Sisters to making it big as a solo act in the worlds of music, film and literature, as well as discussing her latest CD, This Kind of Love. Carly also performs her signature hits “You’re So Vainâ€, “Anticipationâ€, “Let the River Run†and new songs “This Kind of Love†and “Islandâ€, exclusively for Private Sessions.
Where can we see the entire interview with Howard Stern and Carly and her responses about James Taylor not speaking even about the kids? Saw a brief part on YouTube. Kudos to her for doing such a great job then and now.
